Galiza, reintegracionismo e senso comum histórico

Numha sucessom sem fim de polémicas sobrepostas entre defensores do espanhol, do galego e todo um espectro entre ambas as posiçons, o passar do tempo tem vindo a assentar nos últimos anos um novo senso comum em volta da questom lingüística galega, determinado sobretodo pola própria materialidade histórica do processo.
Há três décadas, quando principiava a minha militáncia pola língua, existia umha crença que, já na altura, tinha escassa correspondência com a realidade. Muitas pessoas costumavam afirmar que o galego “estava na moda” e mesmo que cada vez se falava mais.
Lembro também que, naqueles anos, o nacionalismo galego parecia acreditar no caráter eterno ou atemporal da condiçom maioritária do galego na nossa sociedade. Eram séculos a certificar aquela crença e faltava só, dizia-se, contarmos com um governo nacionalista que reconhecesse ao galego o papel que lhe correspondia, ultrapassando assi o que em tom sentencioso se carimbava como “situaçom de diglossia”.
Também naqueles anos, a ideologia isolacionista gozava de bastantes adeptos entre os sectores mais favoráveis à língua, seguramente por vender um produto ancorado em variedades dialetais e noutra crença: a de que pretendia representar o “galego vivo”.
Quanto ao herético reintegracionismo, era condenado como inimigo da normalizaçom, tanto polo espanholismo como por boa parte das elites culturais galegas.
Acho que, com a perspetiva que dam os anos transcorridos, já podemos dizer que o senso comum histórico tem mudado, acompanhando umha transformaçom de fundo que reduziu o galego à mínima expressom quantitativa (falantes) e sem grandes avanços no aspeto qualitativo (consideraçom e utilidade).
Para já, hoje fica difícil basear a defesa do galego no seu objetivo caráter maioritário. A deserçom massiva do nosso povo, nada espontánea e ainda em marcha, é um facto. O processo de transculturaçom tem hoje expressons muito claras nas mais diversas áreas da reproduçom social, incluída a língua.
O escassíssimo alcance de medidas governativas de apoio a umha língua funcionalmente mutilada, num país sem soberania e atrelado a umha corrente cultural da potência que a espanhola tem ficou também em evidência. A ingenuidade da identificaçom entre “governo nacionalista” e “normalizaçom lingüística” numha sociedade em processo de avançada desnacionalizaçom é reconhecida já até polos nacionalistas galegos mais “possibilistas”.
Quanto à “ameaça lusista” a que as autoridades académicas apelavam para defender a sua posiçom de poder na autonomia galega, ficou também totalmente diluída à medida que a parcela de poder a conservar por aquelas elites isolacionistas ia minguando, devido à reduçom do papel do galego como “arma política”.
Entretanto, umha parte do movimento reintegracionista fai esforços nos últimos anos para obter algum reconhecimento por parte do “poder lingüístico”. Conformando-se com a difusom do português como segunda língua, garante que nom irá contestar a “devida” hegemonia do espanhol e, para aliciar esse poder, larga lastro identitário e evita qualquer compromisso com a reivindicaçom soberanista em termos lingüísticos, culturais e políticos.
Assi sendo, e recorrendo ao tópico, pode-se afirmar que estamos hoje numha situaçom “de impasse”, em que a condena da heresia lusista ficou démodé e a prática totalidade da intelectualidade autonómica assume um discurso inócuo de diálogo com o “português-língua-estrangeira-mais-próxima”.
Nesse novo senso comum que está a estender-se, a proposta é de convívio entre o galego “normativo” (isolacionista) e aquilo que umha parte do reintegracionismo batizou como “galego internacional”, em referência ao português, entendido como complemento do galego e evitando atritos com o domínio do espanhol.
Um reintegracionismo despossuído do seu potencial na construçom nacional mostra-se disponível para desproblematizar o conflito lingüístico, assumindo a posiçom subsidiária do galego e reduzindo as reivindicaçons lingüísticas a um diálogo “bem entendido” entre a Galiza e Portugal, com a devida bençom oficial.
Seguramente nom seria justo responsabilizar esse reintegracionismo do “New Deal” polo novo senso comum em que estamos a instalar-nos. As limitaçons de um movimento patriótico que pudesse propor e praticar a soberania galega para além das palavras abriu espaço para visons relativistas que tentam “salvar os móveis” num processo histórico desnacionalizador como o que vivemos.
Tampouco vale a pena discutir se era isso que a corrente histórica reintegracionista pretendia, pois ela foi sempre um magma que arrastou visons muito diversas do que a Galiza deveria aspirar a ser em termos de política lingüística e de país.
Entendida nesses termos, a contraditória linha atual do “magma reintegracionista” nom deixa de refletir a real correlaçom de forças que o configuram como movimento social, num processo que, apesar da difícil situaçom que como país atravessamos, nom concluiu.
